With well over 100 weddings under my belt, it's fair to say that I am experienced. My artistic approach has been recognised by the WPJA and AGWP, as has my work as a visual artist.

I am based in Megève in Haute Savoie and mainly work in the Savoie region, Geneva and around Lake Geneva, mainly in Lausanne and Montreux. I am able to travel further afield, such as to Provence, Switzerland and Italy, or even further.

Who is Olivier Tops?
I have been a professional photographer for 38 years, an experienced photojournalist, a renowned visual artist and a creator of new artistic techniques. Wedding photographer since 1989, I specialized internationally in 2006. Fluent in French, English, and Italian. My work combines discretion, adaptability and creativity, with the aim of capturing emotion. My artistic approach and visual storytelling have been recognised by the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) and the AGWP (Artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalists).
At the beginning of my career, there were only 70 wedding photographers selected by the WPJA worldwide. Today, in France alone, there are 145... Fortunately, there are some very good ones, but their value is diluted in the crowd.
Wedding photography, as I practise it, is a demanding passion. Many renowned photographers in the field do not last 10 years... That is why I do not cover more than 12 weddings a year, carefully selecting my couples. The goal is to make them happy and to enjoy myself as well.
My journalistic approach
Enhancing naturalness, without posing, to capture the famous ‘decisive moments’ so dear to Cartier-Bresson. My approach, discretion and professionalism allow me to be perceived by your loved ones as a guest and to blend into the background. This allows me to establish contact more easily and therefore take more natural photos.

My creative techniques
With a mastery of a wide range of photographic techniques, I use modern, high-quality accessories and lenses. But I also use vintage optics with character, for a more aesthetic, even dreamlike effect.
All of them are little gems with surprising capabilities. They may be over 50 years old, ‘made in the USSR’, modified, or even slightly radioactive. But each one has beautiful features or flaws that I will highlight to add an extra artistic touch to your wedding.
Constantly evolving, I am moving towards new and innovative techniques. All of this is a bonus beyond my type of reportage, and I do it whenever possible, during the quieter moments of the wedding.
The night-time photo facing Mont Blanc is astrophotography. It has been filtered and processed, but there has been no tricks! Most of the work is done when the photo is taken, so Photoshop is not needed to achieve this result.
Another example is these rings, which look like they were photographed in a studio... but no, they were taken in less than five minutes on the corner of a table. I will show you more creative content once I have refined my tests in the field under real conditions, mainly in the evenings.

I am a photojournalist
Alongside my career as an artist and my specialisation in weddings, I have travelled the world to develop my eye. Most of my reports have been produced in collaboration with NGOs in the field. They are the ones who have shaped the eye I have today. Here are some photos from my reports abroad.
